Personal Life

My personal life is fairly quiet. Even though I am a public elected official I try to be an ordinary guy living life in the suburbs. I even mow my own lawn since my son is grown and married.  I try to escape the daily troubling cases to ride my motorcycle or delve into history.  I can do lectures about history if any one is interested.  I even lead a historical tour of the Courthouse for the Clark County History Museum.

I certainly can tell you all about aviation history especially the history of Pearson Field since I am the Chair-emeritus of the Pearson Field Historical Society.  I had a large part in founding the Museum and the idea behind the Historical Reserve.  Testifying in front of Congress  was a very interesting experience.  I helped Bruce Hagensen and Dan Evans write the language that Jolene Unsoeld Presented to Congress to form the Reserve to preserve all of the area history.

My wife, Susan and I support the community in every way we can.  We do have our favorite non-profits that we give our time and what financial help we can.  This is an amazing community with many fine work going on to help people, animals and the arts.

I was born in New York and grew up there but the Northwest has been my home since I was 19.  Vancouver and Washington can not be surpassed in beauty and Clark County makes the perfect community place to live in..  If only you could get a good pizza here!
